Overview
MarkdownToPDF.cc is a privacy-first tool. Your Markdown content is never uploaded to any server — all conversion and rendering happens entirely in your browser. We collect minimal analytics data to understand how the tool is used and to improve it.
1. What We Collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity to collect anonymised usage statistics, including pages visited, session duration, and general geographic region. These tools use cookies and may collect your IP address (anonymised before storage). No personally identifiable information is linked to analytics data.
Local Storage
To restore your work between sessions, your Markdown content is saved to your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
2. What We Do Not Collect
- The content of your Markdown documents
- Any account or registration information (no sign-up exists)
- Payment or financial information
- Any data from children under 13
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics
- Microsoft Clarity — session heatmaps and interaction analytics
You can opt out of analytics tracking by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser or by using a browser extension such as uBlock Origin.
4. Cookies
We use analytics cookies set by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. No advertising or tracking cookies are used. Your browser's cookie controls can be used to block or delete these at any time.
5. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics and 90 days in Microsoft Clarity. Local storage data is retained indefinitely on your own device unless manually cleared.
